Danielle Cabalis recommends Go Ask Alice, worth 7 AR points. A read- for- enjoyment kind of book, you will experience all the ups and downs of Alice’s life on drugs. Interesting with a valuable message, all high-schoolers should enjoy this book.

Ethan Cardenas-Tseu recommends Fever 1763 at 7 AR points, grade level 5. A real reading joy, the book is about an epidemic, which spread throughout Philadelphia in the year 1763, killing many people. Packed with drama, Fever 1763 will keep your attention until the very end.

Summer Lay recommends It’s Not Easy Being Mean by Lissi Harrison for 5 points. A fun, so totally relevant book, and definitely a quick read, the book is so like the film,”Mean Girls”. Massi is the center of major high school drama and takes the reader through all this.

Jerry Wu recommends any Dan Brown book, but especially Da Vinci Code. This is a thrilling suspense novel, which keeps you reading on and on. High double-digit AR points awarded for this one. A movie-free recommendation (he never saw the movie), Wu scores this recommendation up there. Difficult vocabulary is surmounted by context clues.

Dreamland is Karlee Garcia’s pick. A thick book, but of high interest and was completed in 3-days! A teenaged girl deals with a run-a-way older sister, who leaves on her birthday. Sarah Dessen authored this book.

Honor students unanimously recommend Nicholas Sparks books. High drama, fast reads, dealing with illness–these are consistent characteristics of Sparks’ books. Mixed endings abound.
