School Stress

I have to do this and that, no wait…oh no, I have to do this first!

There’s so many different activities that students are involved in – whether it be homework, extracurricular activities, or drama. Along the way, you cannot avoid stress. Everyone deals with it.

For me, I have to deal with homework from AP classes, go to club meetings, attend outside school activities, face family problems, and keep up with my social life. It becomes hard because some conflict with each other and I get frustrated. But at the same time, I do not like having a relaxing schedule. It feels like nothing is happening. This is why my schedule is overwhelming and I often ask myself if I like thriving through a life of stress. I evaluated my time management and saw ways to alleviate stress.

Some ways are:

  1. Prioritize matters; determine what’s important and beneficial to you.
  2. Take courses you can handle; remember you have to be committed to your activities. If you cannot meet up to those expectations, you should look back at your schedule to see what’s more important to you.
  3. Don’t procrastinate; do things ahead so you won’t have to worry about finishing it last minute.
  4. Write in your school agenda; this will help you organize what you have to complete. It will also save you time from asking friends on what homework is, and remind you if you have any important meetings or dates you need to be aware of.
  5. Say yes to pleasure; you need leisure time.

Don’t put yourself under too much pressure…unless you thrive through a life of stress!
