‘Fa Fa Fa Auwe’ is no longer far away

McKinley High School students have more reason to look forward to the last period of the day on Friday, March 30. They will head to the auditorium to see this year’s faculty play, “Incident at Fa Fa Fa Auwe” Having the faculty play every four years is a tradition at McKinley.

The localized theme was chosen by James Nakamoto, former drama teacher at the school. Nakamoto, for whom the auditorium stage is named after, directs the faculty play.

Student Activities Coordinator April Nakamura, who will also appear in the play, said that the play will consist of 60-65 faculty and staff. They have been practicing after school since February. Secrecy shrouds the play up until performance day, so Nakamura would not reveal much. However, she said that students can expect to laugh.

“It’s not that we’re trying to be funny,” she said. “It’s probably ‘cause we look funny!”
