The Pinion

Thompson Wong
My name is Thompson Wong and I am a senior at McKinley High School. This is my second and last year in newswriting, so I'm dedicated to helping The Pinion grow and be successful. I enjoy reading and writing in my spare time, though I don't have much of it. My favorite book right now is "In Sight of Stars" by Gae Polisner, a story about a teenage boy name Klee who ends up in a mental hospital after attempting to take his own life. I love the novel for it's accurate depiction of depression, compared to most movies and books that adds to the stigma of mentally ill people. Besides newswriting, I am also on the Speech Team, Book Club, and Band. I have an upcoming short film titled "Love Is But A Dream," a love story that's heartwarming and dreamlike.
