The Pinion

  • What a start for a school year! And it is The Pinion's Centennial.
Shane Kaneshiro
Hi, my name is Shane Kaneshiro. I am a freshman, but I am not new to the school grounds. I grew up on the campus because my mom teaches here. One cool fact is that I volunteered to help the freshman class during McKinley’s 150th-anniversary luau when I was in the 4th grade. I trained for the Hapalua half marathon and completed it in an hour and 40 minutes. My goal was to finish the Great Aloha Run in under an hour but for the 2020 Great Aloha Run, I finished in one hour and 30 seconds. Another sport I enjoy is tennis. I hope to play competitively for the McKinley tennis team. I prepared myself for this school year by taking Algebra 1 during the summer so I now am taking both Geometry and Algebra 2. I am also enrolled in Honors Biology because I want to participate in the science fair. I enrolled in Newswriting to help me get better with my writing. Let me know if you have ideas you want me to write about.
