Cooper returns to McKinley
Damien Cooper is an English and special education teacher that left McKinley, but then came back.
She started teaching because she has worked with kids before in the past and since teaching is a “family career.”
This year she is looking forward to seeing her senior students graduate and go to college. Whenever she has free time, she likes to read, go swimming or go travelling.
“I’m very happy to have her back here because she really loves working here and working with the students that she has, so I’m very happy to have her back,” Principal Ron Okamura said.
Aloha. The Pinion staff wants to send two students and one adviser to the JEA Spring Convention in Minneapolis in April 2026.
