MHS should have student led classes
September 16, 2016
Students should be given the choice of having an elective class that is both run and managed by them and their fellow classmates.
The subject that students study in that particular class should be left to the students to decide and agree on.
Such a class is necessary for our students because it can help our students by teaching them leadership skills, and other important things, like how to get along with other people and flourish in a functioning society. Getting along with other people is a key factor to being successful in life.
The great philosopher Aristotle himself said, “Humans are social animals; an individual who is unsocial naturally and not accidentally is either beneath our notice, or more than human. Society is something that precedes the individual.”
A class run by students would improve social skills and also keep students from being bored, thus improving their grades. Plus, students can utilize free time in this class to get assignments finished and out of the way.
Students could also participate in debate exercises once or twice a month that improve their speaking skills, as well as their grammar.
Having a class like this in our school would beneficial for our students.
