Vaping Puts Teen Lives On Risk

Kelly Cheng, reporter

Vaping can badly affect teenagers.

A study from the National Institutes of Health shows that there has been an increase in teenagers vaping, Juul-ing, or just using e-cigarettes more often. It has invaded high schools and middle schools so thoroughly, that students have begun skipping class to smoke in the bathrooms. Many students eventually get caught for it.

The act of inhaling and exhaling vapor leads to huge risks that could potentially hurt or bring death to a teenager’s body.

Along with nicotine, vaping liquids contain additives such as propylene glycol and glycerol. These types of toxic chemicals have led to cancer, respiratory disease, and heart disease.

Since there are varieties of flavors in nicotine, it becomes highly addictive for people who get attracted to e-cigarettes quickly.

Vaping may also harm other bystanders who are being surrounded by them.

Many situations also involve peer pressure, it is important to follow what their friends do so they don’t feel left out. Role models and celebrities that they look up to can also influence teens to vape.

No matter where teenagers maybe, near the school campus or out in their neighborhood, they should not vape. It’s important that we take care of our body.
