About the Contributors
Dominic Niyo, web editor
Aloha, my name is Dominic Niyo, Class of 2026. I am one of the editors serving The Pinion, overseeing both physical and online publications. I joined Newswriting as a freshman in the school year of 2022-23 to learn more about the journalism industry, as well as the school community. This year, I decided to rejoin The Pinion to continue its 100-year legacy of delivering insightful and entertaining content.
Cheska Orias, Editor-in-Chief
Hi there guys, girls, and non-binary pals, I am Cheska Orias, Class of 2026. I love all things art which includes drawing, painting, writing, and crafting! I also love anything related to psychology or anthropology, especially those long video essays on a specific psychological topic, and I base a lot of my work on that. You'll probably find some of my digital art on here, and on other staffers' articles.
This is my third year on The Pinion staff and I'm excited to be here once again. Topics you'll find me writing about are mental health/psychology-related things and anything related to the arts! I'm looking forward to working with this year's Pinion staff :D If you have any article ideas you want me to write about, email me at [email protected] or any of my other socials!
Positions over the years:
Year 1: Reporter
Year 2: Reporter/Assistant-Editor
Year 3: Editor-in-Chief
Kena Anien, reporter
Hi my name is Kena Mj Anien! I am a sophomore at McKinley Highschool and this is my first year in The Pinion. I joined The Pinion because I thought it would be something fun to do and also cause I wanted to do something new for a change . My goal this year is to do my very best so I can be a good reporter/photographer for the pinion. I hope I can apply all the things that I learn in newswriting to my everyday life even if I’m not reporting.
