I'm Ryan Vanairsdale, an editor for The Pinion. I originally chose newswriting in 9th grade because I liked the class in middle school. I also liked writing and journalism. Although it was a lot of work, I really enjoyed seeing my articles published and printed, so I came back for sophomore year. While the writing process is stressful, there are little things in life as satisfying as having completed an article you worked hard on. I also do a few extracurricular activities. I participate in speech, Science Bowl, math team, and Cyber Patriots. In addition to those, I have some hobbies. I play the piano and also play games (such as Minecraft.) Sometimes I like to write short stories based on writing prompts people give on Reddit. I find that it's a good way to pass time and practice creative thinking.
