Tsai says: Keep writing

Mike Tsai has worked for a lot of newspapers for many years. He is currently a columnist for The Honolulu Star Advertiser.

As a columnist he said he tries not to focus the story only on his opinions, but also to the people he talks to.

Like most everyone’s journey to success, there are some roadblocks to face. Tsai isn’t an exception. He shared that it took him a long time to get comfortable interviewing people.

He would take any opportunity to improve himself.

“It’s really important to keep writing,” he said. “I would write for free.”

Tsai enjoys speaking to different types of people. He believes that everyone has a story, and that it’s important to “find that personal connection.” If it’s interesting to you then it could be interesting to someone else.

“I love talking to strangers,” he said.

Tsai said that you have the capability to make “anything that you encounter interesting to yourself.”
