Low grades, Low future

My experience in softball taught me that my education is important.

When I first started playing, I was purposely failing in math and science. When my coach informed me that I could not play without the grades, it taught me that I should have taken school seriously. I had no good excuse to why I was failing. I usually blamed my teachers for not passing, but honestly it was my fault. If I wanted to pass then I would have taken my time to learn what I needed to learn.

At the end of the season, I passed science but not math. The funny thing was that I am really bad at science and math was something that I understood. This especially showed me that if I really took math seriously, then I could have passed. If I can pass something that I did not understand, then what else was I capable of passing if I tried? So here I am taking math again.

I am giving it my all because I never played a game last year and I will play this year. I am so disappointed in myself for letting myself and the team down. If you think that you can get far without your grades, then you won’t go that far. Work hard for what you want and in the end, you’ll see that it was all worth it.
