President of the United States. This title has been tarnished by Donald Trump. As a young woman, I strongly disagree with his policies and don’t support anything he stands for.

When I heard Trump won the election, I wanted to keep an open mind and not jump to the conclusion that he was going to be a terrible president. That’s the last thing anyone wants. As usual, I was let down when I read about the new policies and laws the Trump administration planned on passing.

For one, I disagree with their plan to defund Planned Parenthood. I’m a firm believer in having a choice in what we want to do with our bodies. Planned Parenthood is a health care provider that provides information to millions of people globally. They also provide services such as STD testing, pap tests, breast exams and contraceptives. This is a vital organization whose mission could be negatively affected, which will only cause more problems.

Trump also plans to allow projects like the Keystone Pipeline to advance. The Obama administration blocked its construction, but Trump is considering allowing it to move forward. The existing Keystone line has already leaked many times in just one year of use. A research report from the University of Nebraska estimated that “there would be 91 significant spills from the pipeline in the next 50 years.” A spill in Nebraska’s sand hills above the Ogallala Aquifer could allow as much as 180,000 barrels to spill in, contaminating the broad water supply in the region.

These are just some of the many reasons why I feel Trump is running our country into the ground.
