Improvements were made this year
September 16, 2016
Despite the fact that McKinley High School’s junior varsity football season ended early, the team did better than last year, athletic director Bob Morikuni said.
Alexandria Buchanan, a JV quarterback, said they decided to end the season early because players are getting hurt, not enough players, and the coach doesn`t want anything to happen to them.
Buchanan said she enjoys playing the sport and loves her teammates.
She tries her best when she gets the chance to play. She said the team communicates well with each other on the field.
Teammates treat her the same as anyone else on the team but they still treat her well.
Api Momosea, a JV lineman, was interviewed before the season ended.
“I feel happy playing in my position,” he said.
What he loves so much about football is that he gets to hit people. He hopes to get a scholarship to a good college for football through hard work.
He said that the football team communicates great with each other on the field according to Momosea and they work together and get along great.
He said the team got off to a rough start in this new game season. The junior varsity team for MHS lost all their games but they still played with their heads high and still had a lot of courage.
He said that they tried their hardest and played their hardest out on the field.
He said that they all have good personalities and they all have good sportsmanship on the field against the other teams.
He said that they are all good at communicating on the field with each other. They have been staying strong and they tried very hard this season. They strived for the greatest this season and tried to win some games.
