What’s your IG?

Instagram is a very popular social media site with over 300 million monthly actives, 2.5 billion likes daily, and on average 70 million photos a day. What would happen if Instagram were to shut down?

“When people unfollow me I wanna throw my phone,” freshman Michelle Hyunh said.

Some people take Instagram very seriously but a majority don’t because it is a very fun and engaging site to interact with people.

Many teens, adults, celebrities, companies, etc. use Instagram to interact with the world through their followers. That’s great because it’s like having a conversation. Interactions between people on Instagram go as far as sharing a photo and two taps,  which is very simple. All people have to do is go through their feed to see what’s going on in the world around them. Instagram is a great way to interact with people and to have fun, and that’s why people love it.

Adult and Physical Education and Study Skills teacher, Colleen Oshiro, is positive towards Instagram, “More privacy than Facebook” she said.

It’s interesting that teachers like Instagram. Yes, Instagram is a very interactive social network but it also has a private side. You can pick and chose who you follow and who can follow you.

It’s safe, fun, interactive and a huge convenience. Everyone should be happy that Instagram is around and hopefully it will be for a long time.
