Quill and Scroll is an international honorary society for high school journalists. Nominees for McKinley High School’s Quill and Scroll Chapter must
- have the equivalent of a B grade average, or be in the upper third of their class in general scholastic standing, for the year of their election and the cumulative total of all high school work.
- have done superior work and exhibited leadership skills in some phase of journalism or school media work for at least two years as a staffer of a magazine, newspaper, yearbook, news organization, online site or radio/television station at the school, or one conducted by an external organization.
