- Quill and Scroll is an international honorary society for high school journalists. Nominations for McKinley High School’s Quill and Scroll Chapter are made during the first semester of the student’s senior year. Nominees must
- have the equivalent of a B grade average, or be in the upper third of their class in general scholastic standing, for the year of their election and the cumulative total of all high school work.
- have done superior work and exhibited leadership skills in some phase of journalism or school media work for at least two years as a staffer of a magazine, newspaper, yearbook, news organization, online site or radio/television station at the school, or one conducted by an external organization.
