McKinley High School will be hosting its eleventh annual Weed and Seed Variety Hour. The event is a school talent show that takes place in the M.M. Scott Auditorium. The show has become a well-awaited event that gives students an opportunity to showcase the many talents of the school. Talents range from dancing to singing. A few surprising talents from some unlikely students can only be known by going to show and witnessing them first hand.

Last year’s winners were an acapella group called the Tokousos, led by Sakalaia Hungalu. Their performance honored McKinley and showed off the vocal talents of every Tokouso. This year, with the loss of one member that graduated, the Tokousos will be including the vocal talents of a female, Iwa Suka.

Edward Sariol and this dance club, known as the Hip-Hop Hooligans, are another group that placed in the top five in last year’s competition. This year, in addition to a new name, the dance club is also going to incorporate a new element of stunts into their routines. While remaining as safe as possible, the dance club is going to try to “wow” the audience the best they can.
