Sliding Toward Summer – Photo Slideshows of End-of-Year Events
The school year ended with several events: JROTC, Maskerade Night, a vaccination clinic, a petition drive, a Band concert, an Orchestra concert, and, of course, graduation.

McKinley High School hosted a COVID-19 vaccination site on May 15.

On the same day, opponents of a resolution to change the school’s name held a petition drive.

Later that day, the McKinley High School band held a concert. The McKinley Orchestra performed a different concert the next day.
The Band Concert took place on Saturday, May 15th at 5:30 pm. Even though it wasn't a traditional Spring Concert, the seniors got to play on stage one more time as MHS Band Students.
About a week after the Orchestra concert, on May 23, McKinley High School held a socially distant graduation ceremony for seniors.
A balloon arch marks the entrance to the graduation ceremony. Seniors this year were able to bring two cars with a maximum of ten guests.
The senior class held a modified senior prom in about the same month.
During dinnertime of the first round, seniors eat their food after sign-in and games with dance time to follow after. This photo earned honorable mention for Action/Candid Photo in the 2022 Hawaii High School Journalism Awards.
