This article “Freedom Under Fire” is a News article. It was written by Caroline Su, Jiayue Zou, Paghunda Ali, and Karin Leverett. This article talks about how students express how they feel about their first amendment rights being violated. Due to student journalists being faced with the struggle of being questioned if there articles are deemed to controversial. It demonstrates quality Journalism because it follows all the rules needed for an objective piece.
It meet several elements of the TIP CUP such as impact. This article has an impact on students views of what student journalists have to go through. They interviewed a lot of different students journalists, so they were able to get their opinions on what they think. They used “boots on the ground” by asking the right questions. Such as what students believe they should have the right to do. I think they spent time observing about the first amendment. The article was structured well and had used the inverted pyramid method. There transition paragraphs were good and had a lot of information. The authors chose good quotes that truly expressed the students thoughts.
